ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN - What started as a quite successful new venture with over 115 new jobs moving to the Ann Arbor area, has already grown to over 130 staff members and 30 open positions in a very short span of time.

As announced in November, Cole Taylor Bank's mortgage division led by Willie Newman, successful local entrepreneur, opened its operation in 28,000 square feet of space in the Northeast Corporate Center at 2350 Green Road in Ann Arbor. A recent announcement (attached) from Taylor Capital and Cole Taylor Mortgage indicates their mortgage banking revenue grew 42.9% during 2011.

"We are thrilled and excited with our progress in Ann Arbor and the jobs we are creating locally," said Willie Newman in a meeting between Newman and McKinley's CEO Albert M. Berriz.

Berriz commented, "Willie is a proven player and a close friend, and it was very important to him that the jobs he would be creating would benefit his home town. It's amazing to see what Willie has done in such a short period of time."

ANN ARBOR, MI McKinley is pleased to welcome its newest team member, Clay Thomas, as Director of Commercial Portfolio Management with Commercial Client Services. As Director of Commercial Portfolio Management, Clay will oversee the workouts and management of third-party real estate assets, which include distressed assets in multiple jurisdictions throughout the country. Clays duties include relationship management, commercial portfolio management and redevelopment, lease negotiation, and acquisition and disposition. Prior to joining McKinley, Clay practiced real estate and construction law for two of Southeast Michigans leading law firms. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan where he studied Classical Studies ('97, B.A.) and Law (00, J.D.). He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and on the council of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

Clays responsibilities will include the workout of challenging client assignments and complementing Lauren Dritz in the leadership of the team.Clays arrival at McKinley will position Commercial Client Services for continued growth in both geography and portfolio size.

McKinley had originally purchased over half of these units as fractured condominiums in December, 2007. After acquiring the remaining units in April, 2010 McKinley was able to reconstitute the property as a garden rental apartment community.
