McKinley and TCDC Award College Scholarship to Local Student Alicia Taylor

Taylor, MI – July 3, 2025 — McKinley is proud to announce a powerful partnership between the Taylor Community Development Corporation (TCDC) and McKinley has culminated in the awarding of a college scholarship to Alicia Taylor, a long-time resident of the Villages of Taylor. This scholarship reflects a shared and ongoing commitment to investing in the future of Taylor’s youth.

Alicia Taylor, who has called the Courtyards home since she was just two years old, recently graduated from Taylor High School and turned 18. As the eldest of five children, Alicia has become a trailblazer for her family—becoming the first to graduate from high school and the first to pursue higher education.

Alicia is an exceptional young woman—driven, kind, and a true role model. This fall, she will attend Henry Ford College, where she will begin her studies in Criminal Justice with aspirations of becoming an Investigator. In addition to her academic ambitions, Alicia is known for her strong character, compassion, and creativity. A talented self-taught seamstress, she most recently designed and sewed her own prom dress—a beautiful display of her determination and artistry.

“We’re so proud to support Alicia and to help provide a foundation for her success,” said Will Epps, Director - Villages of Taylor, “Her story is truly inspiring, and we’re honored to be part of her journey. This scholarship is about more than just financial support—it’s about believing in our young people, recognizing their potential, and investing in their dreams. Alicia represents the very best of our community, and we can’t wait to see all the incredible things she will accomplish. Supporting her is exactly why this partnership was created.”

This initiative marks just the beginning of many opportunities to come, as TCDC, McKinley, and community partners continue working together to uplift and empower the youth of Taylor.
