A banner on a street pole on Main Street announces the Chelsea Clocktower Centennial coming up Saturday.

Chelsea will mark the 100th anniversary of the historic Clocktower Saturday when McKinley, the building's owner, hosts a free lunch, tours and entertainment.

The Clocktower was built in 1907 by industrialist Frank Glazier. It housed a 20,000 water tank that could be drawn upon in case of fire. The building has served as Chelsea's unofficial landmark ever since.

Saturday's festivities begin at noon. Guided tours, children's activities and entertainment will continutue until 6 p.m. A concert in the gazebo will follow.
